When we think of Goa, the only things that comes to mind are Sun Sand and Beaches. And then comes the churches, food, drinks and of course the night parties. These are enough for most of us to forget the world outside and get submerged into a different life altogether.
But, very few people know that amidst this colorful world lies a beautiful little place which offers something different to its visitors. Its different, because it offers every visitor a chance to experience a part of the wonderful world of Indian Naval Aviation. Yes, I am talking about the Naval Aviation Museum.
Established in 1988, and located in Bogmalo which is at the southern part of this tiny state of Goa, this museum exhibits aircrafts and fire arms used by Indian Navy over decades, which makes this place a must visit. The following section gives all the information one needs to plan a visit to this place.
Location: Adjacent to Dabolim Airport, Bogmalo, Goa
Distance from nearby cities: Panaji 28 kms, Vasco Da Gama 6 kms, Margaon 27 kms
How to reach: Since this museum is located on a defense land which is a bit internal, its difficult to reach this place using public transport. There are no direct bus to this place. Private cabs can be hired but cab service in Goa is expensive. Easiest way to reach this place is to self drive hired 2 wheelers or cars. GPS shows the most accurate road to this place, also help of locals can be taken to figure out the most convenient road to reach. For the convenience of visitors the museum has ample vehicle parking space.
Hours of operation : 10 AM to 5 PM. Monday Closed.
Ticket Cost : 15 Indian Rupees per head. Camera cost is 25 Rupees per camera.
